He was given the nickname "Wizard of Wood" from his peers in the industry, it was not self-given or received over night! It took many years of perfecting his craft, creating the standards for the industry, and teaching newer and inexperienced contractors on the proper way to restore wood.

However, it doesn't just stop there - you have to constantly keep up to date with new happenings in the industry - prices of materials, laws and legistration regarding chemicals, carpentry, construction, etc. and learning about exotic wood species, different types of engineered decking, new equipment, and making connections and networking.
